Mary Lynn McPherson
Mary Lynn is an advocate for healthy organizations... and she doesn't mean low sick days. She means the kinds of organizations that are purpose-focused—not leader focused; organizations made up individuals who diligently contribute—not out of a sense of duty but rather, with conviction for the powerful impact they can have by working together.
Mary Lynn joined the STRIVE! team in 2002 after a distinguished career with Royal Bank. There, she was the institution’s first female agrologist, a Royal Performance winner, a member of the bank’s Corporate Banking Re-engineering team, and served in its national office—Agriculture and Agribusiness Banking.
She has chaired several boards and served as a committee or board member for numerous organizations. This contributed to her being recognized by University of Guelph Alumni Association as Volunteer of the year in 2009. She is an active member of Toastmasters and through this ninety-year-old, world-wide organization has achieved her Advanced Leader – Bronze and Advanced Communicator – Gold designations.
Mary Lynn is a Myers-Briggs personality type indicator (MBTI) practitioner and qualified to facilitate all of Patrick Lencioni’s content, including The Advantage and The Five Dysfunctions of a Team. She, too, believes that high performing organizations are both smart and healthy.
Whether facilitating strategic planning, consulting with boards tackling tough issues or supporting performance evaluations activities, Mary Lynn is keen to provide fuel for forward momentum and positive change. Mary Lynn's specialties are governance, strategic planning, risk management, performance evaluation, organizational development and teambuilding.
Mary Lynn and her husband have two sons and live near Waterloo, Ontario.
